When someone can document that then I'll be convinced. From a SERPS standpoint I will agree that relevant links are more valuable than non-relevant links however.

Agreed, however I don't put too much stock in the little green bar. It's not the "actual"
PR, as I believe the actual
PR is figured on something more like a decimal point system. The bottom line is not to worry too much about
PR and concentrate on getting quality links and even off topic links. It's just that some links are better than others. They all help.
