Pr and traffic are not directly related, especially if your PR increased.

No. PR can help your rankings but it is a consequence, not a cause.
You gain PR by increasing the number of links pointing to your site or increasing the quality of the links already pointing to it.

Just so you know, the PR that you can see is not the "real" PR. If I were you, I would turn off that little green bar and think about ways to gain traffic.

Link building with PR in mind is a waste of time. Think about the USERS.
