I haven't tried WSN Links before, but for directory software, Gossamer Threads Links is an awesome product (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/links/index.htm). I a fan of all the products and if you are considering a directory suggest you check them out.

I have used CNCat from CN Software (http://www.cn-software.com/cncat/) I really like the user interface and its easy to customize, though the admin is a bit cumbersome and can be difficult to navigate when you've got a few thousand links in it. But considering its free and so easy to use, it is hard to complain about the admin section.
