godaddy is a good hosting but there is an alternative that I have written about previously.

Lets compare GODADDY vs 1and1.
Domain name registration Godaddy 7.96 per year vs. 1and1 5.99 a year, $2 dollar difference right there.
Web hosting GoDaddy provides $3.95 per month vs. 1and1 $4.99 per year
however features are different
GoDaddy offers 25MB vs 1and1 500MB of space
GoDaddy offers 1GB transfer vs 1and1 5GB transfer per month
GoDaddy does not give a domain name free with this hosting plan (7.95$ per year extra) However 1and1 gives a free domain name with their cheapest hosting plan (5.99$ value)
Lets add things up a year of domain name hosting on godaddy would be $55.36 vs 1and1 $59.88

GoDaddy wins. but 1and1 gives features more space and more GB transfer and they own back bones. So I would rather pay $4.52 extra a year to sleep tight at night, without worrying that the site I build tomorrow must be under 25 MB, and should not attract any traffic.

Well one might say it is only couple of dollars here and there but for web developers who product multiple web sites it all adds up.

Oh and yes one more thing Godaddy I belive actually offers mysql db with that account and 1and1 do not. But GoDaddy will rip you off on statistics because you have to pay extra for it and 1and1 gives it free. However 1and1's statistics is no good for any professional.

Again it is just preferences, and I have no affiliations with either of the companies except that I host 15 web sites with 1and1 and so far I do not receive any calls from my clients in the middle of the night telling me that their site is down.
