This is fine. That you you can keep up with all of your accounts in one central location. If you need to upgrade mysql, you just upgrade one server, same goes for apache and the operating system.

Plan the linking structure so its not a 2 way link. Make it so its like a chain:

Site 1 links to site 2 and 3.
Site 2 links to site 3 and 4.

I call it my "little circle of sites".

I have 9 sites on my server - 4 forums and 5 wordpress sites. I also try not to do too much 2 way linking, but it happens.
