It's simply a case of setting up the camera on a tripod, setting the aperture to something around f5.6, using a remote shutter release to start a bulb exposure and then leaving the shutter open for 15-20 minutes. In that time the stars will move across the sky in a circular motion centred around the North star (in the Northern hemisphere) which does not move.
