I think you'll find there is probably no clear answer to which ISP is better. It really depends on customer needs - also, some services aren't available everywhere so I don't think any one person can get a chance to try them all and judge properly.

Of course the basic criteria for a good ISP is speed vs cost and support. Support isn't as much of an issue to the computer savvy so speed is essentially the only factor and many ISP offer varying packages to choose from.

So although the ISP might be great, overall, you might have a low-end package and get slow speeds which could be construed as a biased negative.

I have Verizon FiOS 20/5 and it is good. It's been known to swallow up a gig download in about 15-30 minutes - Of course that depends more on the server that is sending it out, but it's nice to have that overhead for multiple downloads and a wide open pipe for surfing while dl'ing etc..
