I've heard that making money blogging is relatively easy if you know how to do it. I haven't tried this, just so you know, but what I've heard is you pay attention to the news.
When you find something that has a LOT of people's attention, such as Michael Jackson dieing, get off your rear like right now and create a Michael Jackson fan blog and set it up with adsense.
Find Michael Jackson products and get signed up as an affiliate for them.
Make posts on your blog >as a Michael Jackson fan< and 'suggest' your affiliate link at the bottom of your post. Don't blatantly sell! (And you might want to cloak your affiliate url using tinyurl.com or budurl.com, too, so it doesn't look like an affiliate link.)
Something as surprising as Michael Jackson passing away got a LOT of people's attention and millions did Google and Yahoo searches for anything to do with it. (Since Google owns blogger, you'd get better listing with a blogger blog on Google than you would with a blogger blog on Yahoo search results.)
Chances were pretty good that the organic traffic that came to Michael Jackson blogs also clicked on the Adwords ads to find out even more about Michael Jackson.
But if you wait even a few minutes on creating a blog about something like that, you may get left in the dust 'cause you're not the only one who knows about doing that. So you gotta be quick.
Most of the time it will only be short-term money, but something as big as Michael Jackson would have a lot longer interest by the public.
