Once concern should be the under pricing.

Quote:
UN-DER-PRICE: To price lower than the real, normal, or APPROPRIATE value. (Source: The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)
Doesn't sound very appealing, does it? I mean, does anyone really want to be thought of as being worth "less than is appropriate"?

When you charge your products or services lower than "normal", you're automaticlly introducing "yet another hurdle" for the consumer to overcome.

The "it's so cheap there must be something wrong with it" way of thinking.

Does this sound familiar?

But, as everyone here knows there's two sides to every story.

Pricing low is not always a bad idea but you still need to be competitive. If the average pricing is $50 - $300 for directory listings, then $40 sounds like a good deal. If you price it $5. Then that tells ME that they are not putting any effort in it and they are just in it to make a quick buck.

Yes, it will probably get you many people to subscribe. It's only $5 dollars we are talking about. If you are TRULY trying to build a quality directory then the low pricing is going to attract the wrong type of links and audience.

I am not saying you are wrong by doing this I am just giving you something to think about.
