As others have stated it's best to ask pasifichost about discounts.
Most web hosts will be fine for Wordpress. If their features include PHP/MySql then Wordpress will be fine. If your not a big fan of installing software you may wish to check their features for ‘Fantastico’ this will allow you to install Wordpress in a couple of clicks.
