I think companies are investing less and less for adwords due to adsense and click fraud. I know I used to pay over $ 4.00 USD per click for one client to stay in the top 10 now I can get in the top 5 for around $ 0.40 USD. Web design area seems low as well.
It could also be that it's still summer and there is usually a slow time in corporations around this time.
Whatever the reason people seem to be spending less on google. I know I get a better ROI on overture.
