At work, I have a Dell UltraSharp U2311H - 23" resolution 1920x1080.
I tend to keep my windows maximized. Only if I need to, I open them side by side (while coding, ftp etc.) but it gets cramped very quickly. My desk is not that big, but I might get a second screen IF I need one.
Back to the article:
1024x768 always seemed like a strange resolution to me. I have to check my old screens what max resolution they support.
Anyways: Bigger average means less hassle while coding websites.
