To me this doesn't quite fit in with either the preceding sentence and the following paragraph, doesn't quite sound right? Maybe it needs to be placed earlier in the article, or even extend it and have it as part of an introduction which explains why you have decided to write this article.

I think you could word this better, maybe something like -
it does a great job, and the other good thing about it is that it is completely free.
or
it does a great job, and it's completely free.
not perfect I know, but hopefully you understand my thinking.
