Looking for a dedicated server

Copying what's below from another forum. Just discovered this one, and like the answers in here.

I'm looking to get a dedicated server to host several small sites (blogs), one small aviation forum (vBulletin), one small-audience audio stream, one script similar to ImageShack (only for private use by members of my forum), as well as any other small projects I come up with in the future.

I'd like to kick off by saying that I know absolutely NOTHING about linux. Hell, I probably wouldn't be able to install a printer in that OS. This said, I think it's pretty clear that I need some sort of web-based control panel. I'm a quick learner though, the problem is that there is no way on Earth I want to read a 24lb Linux Manual. Do you think that I could survive with self-managed? What would I really need to do that is complicated with a self-managed server?

Anyway, I've been checking out several plans (and some new ones posted here). I don't have much money, but can probably afford a US$90/month plan.

What do the gurus say? What's appropriate for me? Any special things that I should be on the lookout for?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Kind regards,
D.
