OK for all them, really you need to know that most SEO is trial and error you could do all of it and get every page correct on the website, but i have to say i have noticed a hell off alot of websites that are ranked hight without all the SEO.
For the $300 for yahoo i would say NO WAY i would never pay any one that i wouldnt even pay some one that if they said they could get me number one in google, why? well i think if other people can do it then so can we, yer it takes time but it's good to sit back and look at what you have made of your site
