Yes, I spent 12 years in the IT sector working for IBM and contracted out to different corporates. Trust me, I've had to remove it a few times

This is true but in the same token, the larger companies have a bigger IT infrastructure in place and decisions aren't always bad - (just most of the time)

Yes, things have changed and it's actually pretty good.
