There are many many different distributions of Linux.
Fedora Core
Slackware
Mandrake
Just to name a few.
LINUX ROCKS! Its the most stable OS I have ever seen aside from Unix.
Unix and Linux are pretty much the same except Linux is FREE and Unix you need to pay for.
Believe me you wont be making a mistake going with Linux
