I just went to the site, read over the registration process and felt I didn't need additional assistance. It took a little over 2 years and after all the fees it came out to around $600. I didn't pay any attorney fees unless they were included in the fees that the trademark office requested.

The only thing with this is that it's all time sensitive and a very slow process. When they finally get back to you, you typically have to respond very quickly or your application can be rejected or delayed. Overall it was a very simple process.
