Some of the viruses and spyware you end with in your computer prevent you from using antivirus and antispyware programs to get rid of it.

I had that happen to me because I did not keep up with the updates on ServicePack2.

Every program I installed to get rid of the virus wouldn't allow me to keep it open long enough to get rid of it. I couldn't even use Hijack this.

I found the file where the virus was located and uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it. No problems after that.

I make sure I keep everything up to date now because it took me 4 straight days trying to figure out how to get rid of that bugger.

Hope you get it straightened out because I know how frustrating it can be.
