I've been reading pretty harsh reviews elsewhere online about Commission Junction (CJ).

It appears the "participating companies" aren't totally trustable as to what amount of commission they actually give "publishers" back (through CJ's central account) and some of them bail out the second a payout has to be made to cover the publishers' commissions.

I've also read about their dreaded "Dormancy Policy" which states that if an account doesn't sell for 6 months, it's terminated... but the e-mail associated with the account will forever be discriminated against... and blocked, in their registration system (with no way of being re-activated).

Perhaps you've had personal experiences with CJ so you can probably answer this question: is CJ worth the time and effort it requires?
