Try to include signature in your post. (Hope you would include after 18 posts) Just post your blog in different directories and also don't forget to submit it to social bookmarking sites like- del.icio.us, digg, technocrati.
Use white hat techniques only to promote ur blog. Try to post original content, which is foremost to get good traffic from search engines.
I have launched
a blog two weeks before and getting at least 10 uniques and 20 hits per day. U can view by seeing my stats in the bottom of the blog to get an idea about my source of traffic.
