It prolly will - I really don't do much Fantasy Sports, but I always like to tackle a design project by first seeing what else is out there. For your site - because of the sports and age groups - I would look at
Sports Video Games
These has a good Popular feel to it. They love repeating gradient backgrounds (look slick and are not graphic heavy - usually with diagonals), they also play it on High-Contrast (bright highlights and dark shadows (looks like MTV style)
They also play heavy on the Logo (vector style Close Kerning on Fonts that POP)
You can have some serious fun with this...
By the way - I am only speaking from a graphic sense - your coding seems great. and your site looks good too - but I wanted to share my take on it.
