i mean, Google is not human to know whether your site and the other site are with regards to services or products. let me give you an example... Google doen't understand explanations or descriptions. it only understand tags and HTML syntax. (IMO)...
you have a site that sells watches. and there's this site that repair watches. chances are, your site and the other site will make the
watches as your keyword... BUT you are not competitors. Google will not know that your site sells watches and the other site just repairs watches. all it knows is that both of the sites has the term
WATCHES as your keyword.
