I've just started up a new site and I have been doing a ton of directory submissions & link swapping.
I've been trying to give something back to the directory owners and give each of them a reciprocal link however most directories just throw it back in my face.
I add their directory link to my site and then list the reciprocal URL (For example
http://thecoder.com.au/reciprocal/w/ ). However when I press the submit button 7/10 times the site will tell me that the reciprocal URL cannot be validated. What a waist of time, I want the directory owners to know that I have listed their site but the directory won't correctly validate my link. If their not going to validate my link then I'm not going to list them on my site, so I delete them. Their loss.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it to do with the coding of my site? Or does it have something to do with the servers that the directories are hosted on?
