Members complain SMF forum goes slow. Why?

I manage a forum for a client and their members have been complaining that the site sometimes goes extremly slow.

It is quite an active site and can have up to 30 users online at the same time.

The problem is it only uses about 10/15gb's of bandwidth a month, but it goes so slow. I don't think it is a server problem as all of my other websites work really fast and really well and are on the same server.

Also I have never found that the website goes slow for me. It is always pretty fast. It is just the members who complain about it. But then gain they are on it more than me.

So two questions I'm hoping you could help me with are is it expected that an SMF forum (spotlight-forum.com) with 30 users online would make teh server goes quite slow at times, and would it help if I got them a dedicated server?

Thanks for the advice guys?

Mark
