Yea you get your brand and your client's brand out there, but at what cost. The way you market and represent your brand is how people will think about you and your brand. You take the easy, cheap, and irritating route, so your brand must be easy, cheap, and irritating. Not to mention your backlinks will probably yield very little quality traffic.

I don't mean to sound harsh. It's just from a business perspective...I would represent myself or my clients in that way. Everyone Hates a Spammer.
