Reason that seo professionals don't tell you how easy it really is, is because they want your business. The not-so-easy part is to get links from other sites but apart from some time, and maybe some money to buy links it's about all there is to seo. Really.
Of course there is the issue of 'branding', to get your name and logo 'known' and that takes some strategy of which you can either consult marketing professionals or, like with seo, learn how to do that yourself.
In my experience, no professional can do either seo or marketing better than you can do that for your own company once you know how.

Ferre, I'd have to totally agree with you on that, just like my father he runs multiple business large size business every consider them as companies but we consider them as business lol, but he always says he don't want anyone else running it, and he wants to do all the sales him self, and talk to people becuase no one can run it the way that he wants, and has as much as desire for it.
