There's no real major Google Dance these days - instead Google update most little stuff regularly and occaisionally push out a new algo or a large set of new data. There are regular toolbar PageRank updates (about once every 3 months) and site: and link: updates which are different again.
If your content isn't being updated by Google, then look at building some more links to it - inbound link weight counts some way to the rate and depth that your site is indexed these days.
