Personally, I like using a combo of Awstats and Hitslink, but there are some other really good commercial packages too. I've also built some custom tracking software in PHP that we use for our sites and for clients' sites.

I hear ya though...if one works for you there's no reason to switch. In my opinion, it's a little clunky to access the data in Analytics. You can create custom reports in Hitslink and that's a feature most clients like. I'd say that one mark of a good stats program is the kind of reports it generates and level of customization in your stat tracking.
