It depends on what you're trying to rank for. Is "123domain" the name of the company? Having a keyword in the domain name helps somewhat but getting quality links to your site (from relevant sites) with keywords in the anchor text helps more. I don't think it would hurt you too much with the search engines to have a number in the domain, but it's the consumers I'd worry about. Obviously sites that start with 123 are instantly categorized as lower quality in the minds of consumers. That's ultimately what counts because people, not search engines, are the ones who will link to your site.
