Wordpress gives you more creative options. I think blogger is very user freindly and I like the feel of it.
To me, it depends on the Blog.
Blogger will let you add Java script in the side bars, which, if you are using the free version is huge to me!
I use Wordpress, on my Music Blog, and my Professional Website and I love it. (with the exception of fonts)

I personally like to look and feel of Wordpress, and I am a huge fan of 3 column templates.

I think for a simple blog, just content driven Blogger is the way to go.
If you want all kinds of plug ins, and options to make your blog more interactive, I would go with Wordpress.

Before I started blogging I looked around at some blogs, to see what I liked and could apply what i wanted to do.
You will find many different blogs around here to look at, and you should be able to decide from what others have done.

Once you get going, you will want to add more "stuff" and Blogger will only take you so far.
