Being top serp position is more than just traffic....it also helps your submitted sites to be seen, because of the rich content.
The search engine doesnt just roll the dice, and you hit lucky 7 and they put you #1. Your site pushes up , because in that content you are the strongest.
sometimes i get upset because im never in the strongest links, and my site is proven to be a amazing high serp site, but atleast i know the power of my content.
everybody puts up all these directory list of the strongest links for the rt. $ you can get on or you can just submit and get on .... they dont require alot.
Try getting on the strongestlinks with out paying thats very hard to do, but they understood how important my serps were and put me on.
I believe that pr is important, but i also believe when building a good directory ......
1st focus high position-popularity and traffic will follow- try to focus on being on the first 3 pages in the search before moving on.
2d pr . will auto come buy submitting as many relative links as posible..
3d when you built your site you have key words that must relate on every submission through... title....script....
4 Kick it until you reach pr5 with high serp.... than buy your traffic and popularity, and your site will have no choice but to succeed.
