Oh, and the point would be that copying and pasting the url would come up as not verfied, it would have to be a click through from the domain that you are "proving you are who you are" on.

The point would be that anyone could check to see if you are verified as the real person you say you are....

example:

My name is JuggoPop here at IMR.
I would have a link in my sig saying "verify me here"
you click it it checks to see that the registered user "juggopop" has IMR on his list of domains he uses that name on, and returns a page that says "yes he's verified"
you know I'm juggopop because it says my name next to the post and that the same name is shown on the verify page.

you sign up as juggopop somewhere else.
you take the same link and put it on another forum I am not really a member of.
When someone clicks it it says "this juggopop is not the same as the one at IMR" by telling you that (a) this person is not verfied, because the forum does not match the user juggopop... or (b) you signed up as juggopop as well as I did on the service, it states that this juggopop is NOT the same juggopop as on IMR.

either way, it serves it's purpose of stating that (a) they are not verified or (b) it's someone else... somone other than who you might think it is.

See where I'm going with this?
