#2 is misleading (not precise?). As a matter of fact there are a couple dozen file formats for vector graphics. Some of them are considered major formats (ai, cdr, cgm, dfx, pdf, svg to name a few). Btw, EPS is a combination of vector and raster.

It might be good to include some free/open source packages so that folks could try VG without having to spend money or using pirated software such as OpenOffice, Inkscape, JHotDraw etc.
