Yeah... But MSN changed it a little. It used to be enought to get sitewide link from some forum or blog to get top positions for desired anchor but not anymore... MSN became more carefull about it.
Yahoo... it is hard to say. I have noticed this but it doesn't work like this all the time. yahoo index all links and it can show you that you have 50 000 indexed backlinks, but in reality it can be 49 real links and 49 951 links from the same forum (sitewide). I still love it because there is a chance to rank better in directories who sort websites according ammount of backlinks... it gives position on top of the directory, closer to homepage, and little better pagerank value.
Google don't count link from the same site and different pages twice unless it is subdomain like blogspot or 5gigs.
