I kind of see both sides to this.

Yes it doesn't happen very often, but then it only has to happen once and your child is involved and suddenly your life is full of crap. And no matter how old your off spring are, they are still YOUR kids in the end.

A few years back in London, some crazed pycho jumped into a childrens nursery play ground and started hacking away at the little ones with a machete. One of the teachers put herself in the way to protect them.

I can only imagine what those children and their parents went though. Since then security procedures have been tightened considerably in all nurseries.

It only takes one lunatic.

These thoughts are often in my mind at the moment. London is a dangerous place for the young. One kid going to school has been mugged 60 times over the last two years in our area by bullies. The poor kid is terrified.


You don't want to over protect them but then again ...
