The problem with frames comes from the fact that it's hard to bookmark things. I'll either bookmark the home page (which I might not want) or, if I manage to find the address for the exact page that I want, I won't get the whole page because I'll only get that frame.

I'll be honest, all the of the pros about frames make them look like a good idea.

But the reloading of elements that you've already seen doesn't really happen. Things are stored in your browser cache, so that doesn't really become an issue.

The main problem with frames is that sites who design with them just usually look like crap. They tend to just be very poorly put together. I'm not saying they're all like that, but most of the ones that I've seen are.

There's also just something weird about having part of the page load while another part just sits there.
