Well, if you buy them as a whole boxed up set, they usually come with 4 or 5 place settings. Seperately, you can obviously get as many as you want or can afford. Whenever I buy dinnerware though, I always get double so that there are extras. It comes in handy if something breaks and if you have a larger group for dinner. So I like to have enough for 10 settings.
