Hi AdsenseNewbie

Just wondering if this is for real. I mean if I put up a website focusing on car insurance and use google adsense on it google is not going to pay me 44$ for a click on a online car insurance add are they?
Unfortunately no.

Those prices are bids on the Adwords network. Advertisers bid separately for the content network (Adsense), and they usually bid much lower.

For example, I advertise in some of those areas mentioned above, but when it comes to the content network, I either switch it off entirely, target particular sites, or bid very low (a few cents). I imagine other advertisers in that space do the same. The reason is the content network doesn't convert near as well as on Google, and is open to abuse, so the value of the clicks is diminished.

Also, you only get a percentage of the content click price.
