Look to the manufactuer of the computer/motherboard for a bios update that might allow it to reconize larger size disks. Remember when the PII's where out in mass the largest drives that where around where less than 10gb.

If a bios update is unavailable or does not go as far as supporting an 80gig disk then look at the software that came with your disk. if you got an OEM drive that did not come with a cd or floppy then go to that drives website and look for some drive managment software. You can use this to install a secondary bios that will basicly be the intermediary between the large disk and the computer.
Thx for the reply. I bought a new 20GB hd today and it works fine with my PII 400.
