Don't take Do-over and exweso seriously, I am sure they did not mean it.
But I do think a little information about yourself, such as the details in your profile that you are willing to give, helps to break the ice a bit. It gives us a chance to see what we have in common immediately and so allows us to say welcome properly. Some people give very little and it is difficult to say anything apart from 'welcome' and when you are trying to make contacts, or perhaps even friends, it makes it more difficult. G10's five suggestions are also very good.
I think Cricket's introduction above, while tongue in cheek, is a good example; it is short, pithy, honest and true, it sums up a beautiful lady, beautifully.
