A friend of mine admitted to me the other day that he had no idea what blogging really is. He didn't get it when I explained it until I phrased blogging as
"Sending an email to the world".
Then the coin fell. That IMO is how you should look at it. I see a lot of posts from SEOs which make me wanna leave their blog immediately, because you can tell that the sentences mean nothing and are only created to rank for certain terms in the search engines.

That is ignorant. It will eliminate many potential readers and kill the linkbait factor. You don't need to have the best blog in the world, you just have to be unique and get known for something, even if it's just your personality.
