Wow, I have Vista on a laptop that is about 4 months old. I have had almost no problems at all. I am running games that came out well before Vista. I am running graphics software and programming environments with no problem. I have 2 GB of RAM and it is nice and quick. I probably will eventually upgrade to 4 GB but have not need to right now.
The only problem I had was I got a high end gaming laptop that runs an Nvidia 7950 GTX. There were a few video glitches. I had to download the desktop Nvidia 7950 GTX video driver and a slightly edited .inf file from one of the laptop video web sites ( I would have to hunt it again and too lazy right now) and install the updated desktop video driver on my laptop. Other than that, I have had no trouble. I like Vista. Although I have been through numerous Windows upgrades so I am used to having to look for things in a slightly different place on the "next" version of Windows. I think most of the complaints result from people being very comfortable with the previous version and not doing the basic foot work of looking for an using features in the newer version. I have seen this with every upgrade of windows from Windows 3 all the way to Vista. Too many people complain without using their brain and quickly giving up trying to do things they can do without thinking in the version they are comfortable in. My
