I couldn't tell, it would take a couple of test subjects who have experienced both to be able to make any kind of comparison. Fact is that the DMT experience has been described by numerous people on various geographic locations during the centuries and those who described the experience all describe the same "world" and from my own experience it does give a person a totally renewed view on important things like religion and reality. Somehow it enhances the ability of understanding the metaphisical world as well as our connection with the energy source which feeds all life.
It also made me understand complicated issues in such an easy manner that I had no problems at all getting my science degree in chemistry when I was young and studying it at univerity. The best way I can describe it is that it gives people a universal awareness. Not a "believe" but a "Knowing" and it rules out beliefs based on myths simply because of the greater understanding of reality which it enhances.
Having said that, I'm also very much aware that it takes a very sound, independent and analitic mind to coop with it, it's definately not suited for the mentally challenged and those who have a weak personality. People who lack intellectual self confidence should steer away from experimenting with psychoactive substances and entheogens. It can mess them up even more than they already are.
