Lol, this seems like a good guess. I think that google thinks like we do, anything they can do to help remove spam etc the better.
As it says in their listing guidelines all they want to do is show a fair representation of the internet. Meaning good sites rate high, people who try and work though loop holes to get high

I have never been through a
PR update thing before, i was wondering, do they let you know or is there ever any indication that it has started. I have been lead to believe that the process takes around 1-3 weeks to complete?
