First of all cornbread your opinion doesnt count, second of all directories will always exist so get use to it, what are you going to do call google for a link.
bidding directories are giving quick links with in days of submissions maybe you should check on that before you open your mouth and stick your foot in it, because alot of my submissions took up to 3mo. to see my link in the search. This new phpbidlink program is great, tools that show back links in the searches, toolbars,alexa what else do you want for a buck its not my fault you cant afford $10 to be on front page. As far as the front page advertising google allows 20, and mostly every bid directory has ten. I really think google doesnt like football sites , because there all crap.
