Agree in many ways, but...

Actionable anchor text works a lot better than many people might think.

Click here to find out why....

The lesson is clear. Not only should you use actionable anchor text if you really want someone to click, but you should also tell people to take the exact action you want them to perform in order to get the best response. Click here to read the original Marketing Sherpa article in its entirety
This works very well when using it on email. 4 weeks ago I tried one that said...

"Click here to download your new perk, e.g Jaime"
"Download your new perk, e.g Jaime"

The difference, "Click Here" brought 42.1% opening, while "Download..." brought in 32.3% response opening with the same amount of subscibers.

1st one was fully complete and oriented indeed to take action, the second was to the point, but never gave the order. So yes indeed... you are right.

I wonder what the conversion rate will be in a hyperlink text in a forum? Perhaps less, since the majorty would be stranger to must of us... but would it get similar results with others outside our circle of friends/list?

Thanks for the idea Peter.
