The worst thing about singlehood is when your friends try to set you up with, what they perceive as, "your perfect mate." A few years back, when I was a lonely digit in a vast sea of hormones, my friends, hoping to help, kept inviting "nice people" to parties. Which was fine, but they should have kept it a secret and just let it happen. Before one party a friend called and said "there will be this really nice girl at our party tonight." I found out that she told this really nice girl the same thing about me. AUGH! We should have both stayed home. They kept trying to get us on the same team in games or get us alone on the couch. AUGH! And WE BOTH KNEW IT!!! It was so awkward that me and the nice girl never really spoke. I couldn't even figure out if she was nice. I don't even remember her name.
