Alexa Ranking Question

Hello all,

I'm a new webmaster and used to have a blog hosted on wordpress. It ran for about 5 months and I started to get some good traffic so I figured I'd move to a paid host. The new blog has been up about a week at the new domain. I knew the Alexa ranking would take a hit but I'm curious how to get it back up.

My old blog keeps rising. Essentially I did a redirect from the wordpress.com blog so I wouldn't lose traffic but the wordpress blog keeps rising in Alexa! It's now at about 300,000 whereas my new blog at a .net address is currently 5.7MM on Alexa.

Any tips, suggestions as to what I do? Do I just give it time?
