Generally the same as a Windows Machine, 2GB will be good enough for the generals I believe, but if the Apple Macs can take 4-8GB then you could get that but alas that would cost a pretty penny.

Please don't take my word on that for anything more than rumour sake as I have never used the Macintosh in anything other than an educational environment in college. Old eMac's for the win lol.
